DeStress for Finals Week

As finals approach and the semester comes to a close, it is easy to get overwhelmed and stressed out. The Office of Health Promotion is here to help you with self-care and manage your stress to keep you physically and emotionally healthy through this stressful time in the school year. Come join us for a week of stress reducing events from Monday, December 9 - Friday, December 13.

This year's events are travel-themed and events aim to educate students on healthy eating, sleeping and study habits while also helping them to de-stress with fun activities and a chance to win a finals care package. 

Monday, December 9

  • Destress DIY (Lip and Face Scrubs) Table
  • 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m
  • Student Center, 2nd Floor Lobby
  • Come and create a lip or face scrub to help you exfoliate and scrub away that layer of stress! Create your own personalized scrub that will leave you feeling refreshed and renewed well beyond Finals Week.
  • Sleep and Study Tips Table
  • 2 - 4:30 p.m.
  • Student Center, 2nd Floor Lobby
  • Everyone needs a little encouragement, especially when you’re feeling like you have no drive to keep studying or you have been studying too much. Come learn about useful study and sleep tips, then leave a post it note of your favorite tips on our Wall of Encouragement for others to see! 

Tuesday, December 10

  • Tea and Trail Mix Table
  • 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
  • Student Center, 2nd Floor Lobby
  • The tea and trail mix table will serve an assortment of brain boosting healthy snacks, along with teas that help relieve stress and promote mental focus. 

Wednesday, December 11

  • Furry Friends for Finals
  • 1 - 2:30 p.m.
  • Sprague LIbrary, Room 110
  • Take a study break and spend some time with furry friends to help you de-stress before finals!

Thursday, December 12

  • Essential Oils Bracelets and Journals Table
  • 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
  • Student Center, 2nd Floor Lobby
  • Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils for therapeutic benefits such as relaxation, focus, pain relief, and stress-relief. Come join us in making your own essential oils bracelet and have your own aromatherapy session wherever you go. If journaling is more your style, we will also have journals for you to customize and make your own.
