De-stress for Finals Week

As the semester comes to a close, it is natural for stress and anxiety levels to increase, making it difficult to focus. The Office of Health Promotion, along with our campus partners, will be offering a variety of events throughout the week to help you relieve some of the tension that comes with projects, papers, and exams.

 

Monday, May 6

De-stress DIY

  • 2-4 p.m.

  • Drop In Center
  • Are your eyes tired of staring at your textbook? Take a break and come create something fun! We have a variety of DIY’s available including wind chimes, coin banks, bouncy heads, and more.

Miniature Horses

  • 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Student Recreation Center, Front Lawn
  • Finals got you down? Well giddy up because our favorite miniature horses are stomping back into town! Take a mini break and join us in meeting our wonderful mini-friends.

  • Finals week can be a stressful time, but tail wagging friends can help relieve some of the stress that comes with the grind.  Remember to take a pause and come pet some paws!

Guided Meditation

  • 11:30 a.m. - Noon
  • Sprague Library, Room 110, Reference
  • Take a study break and relax into a gentle breathing meditation.

Yoga

  • 12-1 p.m.
  • Student Center, Room 417
  • We will be practicing Vinyasa Flow Yoga (included meditation, synchronized breathing, and graceful transitions between postures) during this 45-minute session. We have a limited amount of yoga mats available for use. Participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mat or towel and water bottle. Come relax and de-stress between finals!

How Can I De-Stress? Table

  • Interested in learning about ways you can de-stress on your own time? Join us in the Sprague Library Lobby as we will be giving students a variety of ways to de-stress and focus on self-care. We will be offering stress balls, bendeez, squishies, and play-doh for your personal use on campus!
