Safer Spring Break Week 2019

Are you feeling overwhelmed from the semester? Have no fear, spring break is almost here! Starting Monday, March 4 - Thursday, March 7, the Office of Health Promotion will be promoting safer spring break tips! There will be information regarding travel safety, sun safety, alcohol, Zika Virus, staycations, and more. Visit us during the week to learn about these topics and a chance to win a free travel size first aid kit. Stop by one of our tables for tips about your spring break plans and to “pin” your spring break location on our map!

Duck Pond Prize Table
Date: Monday March 4th
Time: 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Location: Student Center Lobby

Join us in the Student Center Lobby at the Duck Pond from 12pm to 5pm to answer a question and win a prize! We will have information about alcohol, sun safety, and other safer spring break tips. Come on out to get a travel sized first aid kit and other awesome prizes! 

Fireside Chats
Date: Tuesday, March 5th
Time: 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Stop by the Drop in Center to unwind and discuss your spring break plans over some tea by the “fire.” Join the Office of Health Promotion on Thursday, March 5th from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. for conversations about how you are spending this spring break, whether you are having a vacation or staycation!  This is a great time to meet new people and discuss how to relax and enjoy your time off.

Our Peer Advocates will be in the Sprague Library lobby on Tuesday, March 5th from 12-4pm to talk to you about your spring break plans. Whether you’re traveling abroad, going on a road trip, hitting the beach, or having a relaxing week at home, we have some tips to help you stay safe and healthy this spring break! Stop by our table to have a chat and get one of our awesome giveaways! 

Studio DIY- Wood Coin Block Bank
Date: Wednesday, March 6th
Time: 12:30-2 p.m.
Location: Drop In Center

Decorate your own coin block bank to begin saving for Spring Break 2020! Join us in the Drop in Center on Wednesday March 6th at 12:30pm. All materials will be supplied. 

Rethinking Drinking
Date: Thursday, March 7th
Time: 9:30am-11:30am
Location: Student Center Lobby

Do you know what a standard drink looks like? Come pour yourself your “standard” drink and learn just how much you drink on a typical night out. Join us in the Student Center Lobby on Thursday, March 7th from 9:30am-11:30am for an interactive activity and learn about binge drinking and alcohol related emergencies. Win a prize for participating!
