Destress for Finals

As finals approach and the semester comes to a close, it is easy to get overwhelmed and stressed out. The Office of Health Promotion is here to help you with self-care and manage your stress to keep you physically and emotionally healthy through this stressful time in the school year. Come join us for a week of stress reducing events from Monday, December 10 - Friday December 14.

Monday, December 10

  • Goodnight Moon: Stress and Sleep Table
  • 11 a.m. - 2 p.m
  • Student Center, 2nd Floor Lobby
  • Reminisce about a favorite childhood bedtime story, Goodnight Moon, and learn the importance of sleep during this stressful time.
  • Green Eggs and Ham? Nutrition and Study Tips Table
  • 3-5 p.m.
  • Sprague Library
  • Dr. Seuss has some great nutrition tips. Green Eggs and Ham anyone? To help optimize study and keep your body properly fueled for finals, stop by our table for some brain food. You can make your own trail mix and get some healthy study snack tips.

Tuesday, December 11

  • Mysteries of Stress
  • 3-6 p.m.
  • Student Center, 2nd Floor Lobby
  • Hop on the Mystery Machine with Scooby and Shaggy to solve the mysteries of stress. Stop by our table for a chance to spin the wheel and win a prize! Answer a question about stress and stress management for a chance to win some Playdoh, sleep masks, coloring books or stress balls. We will also provide some information about the benefits of aromatherapy and you will have a chance to smell a variety of essential oils.

Wednesday, December 12

  • Furry Friends for Finals
  • 1-2:30 p.m.
  • Sprague LIbrary, Room 110
  • Take a PAUSE from studying to hang out with some PAWS. Come pet some furry friends to relieve your stress and boost your endorphins!

Thursday, December 13

  • Relaxation Room for Finals
  • 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.
  • Sprague Library, Room 110
  • Take a study break in Sprague's Relaxation Room - a space exclusively designed to help you through finals.
  • Miniature Horses
  • 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
  • Freeman Hall, Lounge
  • We will have REAL miniature horses coming to campus! Come take a mini break from studying with some miniature horses.

Friday, December 14

  • Relaxation Room for Finals
  • 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.
  • Sprague Library, Room 110
  • Take a study break in Sprague's Relaxation Room - a space exclusively designed to help you through finals.
  • DIY Coffee Masks
  • 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
  • Student Center, 2nd Floor Lobby
  • Come pamper yourself for the first day of finals and create your own face scrub! We will be making DIY coffee face masks to rejuvenate after this stressful week.

The Library will be open 24 hours (five days a week) beginning Sunday, December 9 at noon. Get your studying in and while you’re there, don’t forget about the Relaxation Stations and take advantage of the Relaxation Room!
