Great American Smokeout
Nov 7, 2018 by Marie Cascarano
The Great American Smokeout (GASO) is an annual event sponsored by the American Cancer Society. It is held on the third Thursday of November and encourages tobacco/nicotine users across the nation to stop using tobacco and nicotine products for 24 hours or make a plan to quit. GASO helps people learn about the many tools they can use to help reduce their tobacco/nicotine use or quit. They may use the date to make a plan to quit, or they may plan in advance and quit using tobacco/nicotine on that day.
