What Is A Peer Advocate?
Peer Advocates are student volunteers for the Office of Health Promotion and provide outreach, education prevention programming and a person to talk to on a variety of health and social justice issues such as stress reduction, body image, alcohol and other drugs, safer sex, sleep, women’s health, nutrition and other topics.
The Office of Health Promotion provides education, outreach and advocacy to enhance the health of all students. They hold events and programs throughout the year including Safer Sex is Sexy Week, De-Stress for Finals Week and DIY crafts every Wednesday, to name a few. Who Can Apply?
Applications are accepted from all current Montclair State students!
- Please Note: All Peer Advocates must complete the entirety of our mandatory training on the following dates:
- Saturday, September 16, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Sunday, September 17, 8 a.m.-5 p.m
- Sunday, October 1, 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
How Can I Apply?
Fill out our online application today! The deadline to apply is Monday, July 31. Due to the overwhelming responses in past years, it is recommended that you fill out your application early in order to secure an interview spot. You will be contacted via email to set up an interview date.
Interviews will take place:
- Monday, August 21-Thursday, August 24
- Tuesday, September 5-Thursday, September 7
