2017 Engineering Education Summer Outreach Program
Thanks to the generous support of the Gelfand Engineering and Technology Education Fund, the Center for Civic Engagement & Learning (CCEL) will be recruiting four CWRU students to serve in full-time, paid summer internships through the 2017 Engineering Education Summer Outreach program. The program ranges from 7 to 9 weeks starting on Tuesday, May 30, 2017. Stipends are $2,950 (for the 7 week program) and $3,950 (for the 9 week program).
This summer program will expand access to engineering education by matching CWRU students with summer youth programs in the Greater Cleveland community. While serving at these summer programs, CWRU students will design and implement engineering classes with youth enrolled in the programs. Students will also act as STEM role models encouraging youth to explore STEM fields and pursue higher education. Throughout the program, CWRU student interns will also have the opportunity to build their civic awareness and leadership skills through professional development seminars.
