What is #GivingTuesday?

On Tuesday, November 29th, the Columbus State Foundation invites donors, alumni, students, faculty, staff, board members and community supporters to join together in launching a new tradition of philanthropy at Columbus State. Join us in Nestor Hall East Lounge for “#GivingTuesday.”

 #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by generosity and social media. After the shopping days of "Black Friday" and "Cyber Monday," Giving Tuesday is an opportunity give back and make an impact supporting student success at Columbus State Community College.

What to Expect:

Date: Tuesday, November 29, 2016

Time: 10:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m.

Location: Nestor Hall, East Lounge

#UNSelfie Station:

  • Using a photo frame cut out from the bookstore, students can take #unselfies and help spread the word about Giving Tuesday

Service on the Go:

  • We will have tables set up for quick service activities
  • Donating money, no gift is too small
  • Any student who donates $1 will be entered to win food gift cards of some sort

Students will also have the opportunity to sign into The HUB and record their service hours

Refreshments will be candy, coffee and hot chocolate


Volunteer:

  • On Tuesday, November 29, the Columbus State Foundation is requesting volunteers to assist with Giving Tuesday, where they are launching a new tradition of philanthropy at Columbus State.
