Good Morning Voting Advocates,

With the presidential primary coming up on March 15 we wanted to provide you with some important dates for voting in this election.

Ohio's Presidential Primary Election is Tuesday, March 15. Polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 pm. To vote in this election you must be registered to vote by February 16.

Voter Registration

Make sure you are registered to vote. Check your voter registration here.

Due to updating of voter registration roles, thousands of inactive voters have been removed from rolls so be sure and check your registration status.

If you have moved or changed your name since you last voted you will need to update your voter registration. You can update your address on line. Do that here.

If you have changed your name since you last voted you will have to complete a new registration form and mail to your Board of Elections. Download the voter registration form here.

You must update your voter registration no later than 30 days prior to an election. Upcoming voter registration deadlines:

  •      February 16, 2016 for the March 15, 2016 Presidential Primary and for the March 15, 2016 Special Congressional Primary for the 8th Congressional District.
  •      May 9, 2016 for the June 7, 2016 Special Congressional General for the 8th Congressional District.
  •      July 5, 2016 for the August 2, 2016 Special Election.
  •      October 11, 2016 for the November 8, 2016 General.

If you update your address after the deadline, the change will apply for the next election.

Early Voting

Wednesday, February 17 is the start of absentee and early absentee voting in Ohio.

To vote by mail you must request an absentee ballot using the absentee ballot application. Get one here.

To vote early in-person, contact your local board of elections for early voting locations. Find the directory here.
