Diversity Arts Contest

Appalachian State University is seeking creative writers and visual artists to submit their works for presentation and publication during Appalachian's Diversity Celebration. 3 writing submissions and 3 visual arts submissions will be honored and recognized during the chancellor's reception, April 10, 2018 at 7pm. The Diversity Arts Contest is open only to current undergraduate and graduate Appalachian students. Complete the submissions form, using your Appalachian email to enter. The deadline for this contest is April 3, 2018.
*Individual artists can submit to more than one genre within the guidelines outlined below*
**All submissions must be previously unpublished, simultaneous submissions accepted.**

Maximum of 5 visual arts submissions per artist. For submission purposes, please send images or power point containing visual artwork with titles (if applicable). Acceptable mediums include: short film (Less than 5 minutes), photos, paintings, illustration, collages, sculptures, and mixed media visual art.
Creative Nonfiction, Fiction, and Poetry submissions. .doc, .docx, or PDF for written work. Spoken word submissions accepted only if a written transcript/copy is uploaded along with the audio/video file.
-Poetry: Poets can submit up to three poems in one file with a maximum of three pages total per upload. Poems should be typed in Times New Roman, 12 point font. Poets are encouraged to upload an audio or video reading with the submitted work.
-Creative Fiction & Nonfiction: Flash, short-story, and essay pieces accepted. Formatting should be in Times New Roman, 12 point font, double spaced, 1 inch margins with a maximum seven-page count.
