Cultural Inclusion Executive Council Application 2019-2020 (Copy)

This application is to become a board member for the Cultural Inclusion Council.

To be a board member you have to have at least one year of experience with CIC. Job descriptions are listed below

  1. Director of CIC:
    1. Serve for one academic year.
    2. Have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
    3. Should have completed at least junior class standing when they begin their term in office.
    4. Shall hold 12 office hours each week.
    5. Payroll is a based off of a two week Allocation Table. You may work up to 31.25 hours at a wage of $8.00.
    6. Preside over all general and executive meetings.
    7. Hold an executive board meeting prior to every general meeting and hold general meetings once a week.
    8. Keep records of all activities held by the various Alliances under CIC.
    9. Ensure executive members are actively involved with CIC activities.
    10. Work closely with other school entities (ie: clubs and organizations) to keep a positive relationship with CIC.
    11. Oversee the Mav Fest activities including all committees and works with other clubs and organizations in coordinating their events.
    12. Oversee all activities of the executive board and the coordinators.  Work with the Director of Diversity, Advocacy, and Health as well as the Director of Student Life.
    13. Have the final say in all decisions about CIC.
    14. Delegate official duties to other officers as seen necessary.
    15. Be the first executive contacted on the board to help organizations represented solve any internal or external differences they might have, upon request.

 

  1. Assistant Director:
    1. Serve for one academic year.
    2. Have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
    3. Be at least sophomore class standing once they begin their term of office.
    4. Shall hold 9 office hours each week.
    5. Payroll is a based off of an Allocation Table. You may work up to 23.5 hours at a wage of $8.00.
    6. Attend and contribute to all executive and general meetings for CIC.
    7. Perform the duties of the Director in case of his/her absence.
    8. Create the Bi-annual presentation for the Fee Allocation Committee, with the help of the Assistant Coordinator of all recognized Alliances.
    9.  Keep a record of all financial transactions and provide a financial statement at every general meeting. Be able to answer questions pertaining to CIC accounting practices including but not limited to how to get petty cash, how to complete a purchase order, and have documents on file needed for accounting transactions.
    10. Collect budget reports from the Assistant Coordinators monthly.
    11. Work with committees and other clubs and organizations in coordinating their events for Mav Fest.
  2. Communications Director:
    1. Serve for one academic year.
    2. Have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
    3. Be at least of sophomore class standing once they begin their term in office.
    4. Shall hold 7 office hours each week.
    5. Payroll is a based off of an Allocation Table. You may work up to 19.5 hours at a wage of $8.00.
    6. Attend and contribute to all executive and general meetings for CIC. Report the minutes at every meeting.
    7. Take care of all advertising and press release information for each individual Alliance.
    8. Take minutes at every meeting; put together an icebreaker/team building activity as necessary. Type the agenda for all general meeting.
    9. Type all minutes and email them to all executives and advisors within two days following each meeting. File minutes on the CIC R: drive.
    10. Have copies of all CIC forms on file for executives to make copies of.
    11. Collect all office hour logs on Friday and read through them on a weekly basis. During Executive Board meetings, be able to report to the board if there is an issue with executives or coordinators not fulfilling their office hour obligations.
    12. Keep an up to date monthly activity calendar of CIC events.
    13. Be in charge of the CIC application process, which includes advertising, applications, and coordinating of interviews.
