Welcome to the Women's Center!
What do we do?
The Women's Center serves as safe space and an on-campus resource to all students at Appalachian State University. The center serves to educate and encourage women regardless of background, beliefs, or any other factor that may lead to marginalization within society. In addition to being a safe and encouraging space, we program throughout the year and partner with other organizations. Our largest program is the Vagina Monologues in February, but we program throughout the year to promote health and advocate for women's rights. We are also a FREE resource for feminine products and condoms for students!
Make sure to check out our "Feed" and "Events" tabs to stay up to date with our upcoming events!
To enhance awareness of the challenges facing women on this campus and in this society, and to promote, support, and celebrate the diverse Appalachian State University women's community. We strive to foster an environment that creates opportunities for the education, leadership development, and personal growth of women, regardless of their background or beliefs. The Women's Center contributes to the ASU community by offering its own programs and services, collaborating with all existing entities and by working to transform discriminatory institutional structures and practices.

The Appalachian State University Women's Center is the only completely volunteer-run Women's Center in the state of North Carolina. We are committed to educating the Appalachian community, eliminating gender discrimination, promoting social, economic, and political equity, and empowering women and girls.
As a student-centered organization, we coordinate programs and events that align with the mission of the Women's Center and develop other interests as they arise through campus happenings and current events.
