RAAZ is an all-female South Asian Dance Team established in 2002 by St. John’s students as an instrument to express their passion for dance. RAAZ encompasses many different styles of dance such as Indian Classical/Semi-Classical, Modern/Contemporary, as well as Hip-Hop and Bollywood. Our purpose is to promote cultural awareness and unity of the diverse styles of dance, complex techniques, and ageless beauty of South Asian dance. RAAZ has performed at various competitions throughout the nation and tri-state area and we continue to live out our passion for dance by performing and competing around the U.S. We represent the University, South Asian culture and female dancers as a whole. “RAAZ" originates from the Hindi word meaning “secret." Embrace your senses and join us on this journey as we unveil our RAAZ. Your love and support encourages and motivates us to perform bigger and better!

Each limb of this body of students takes time to hone this art. “RAAZ" originates from the Hindi word meaning “secret". Embrace your senses and join us on this journey as we unveil the secret.

"Great dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passion."
