Welcome to the AppSync page for the Omicron Kappa chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc was founded January 15, 1908 at Howard University in Washington D.C.  The Omicron Kappa chapter was chartered here December 11, 1987 and has been of service to Appalachian since then. Omicron Kappa prides ourselves in following our sorority motto to the max, "to be of service to all mankind". We complete a countless number of community service hours while maintaining high GPAs, major leadership roles, and hosting numerous programs.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, is the first African American sorority. Our mission is to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, to promote unity and friendship among college women, to study and help alleviate problems concerning girls and women in order to improve their social stature, to maintain a progressive interest in college life and to be of service to all mankind.
