The Indian Subcontinent Student Organization is used as an outlet to provide St. John’s University students, both undergraduate and graduate alike with an experience of learning, fun, and a place to meet people. This experience is innovated through the ideals of the South Asian Culture providing cultural shows, philanthropies providing awareness, and many other events adding to the collegiate experience. We reach out to all members of the St. John’s Community, encouraging true cultural unity by celebrating our differences. What makes our organization stand out from other organizations is the fact that we offer a scholarship to one student who is an ISSO member.
ISSO stands for the Indian Sub-continent Student Organization. The purpose of this organization is to provide those who are of South Asian decent or interested in South Asian culture, with an environment where they can meet others just like them selves, learn about the beauty of the culture, and participate in cultural events.
ISSO is open to all people who wish to take part in the fun and excitement that surrounds the organization. We reach out to all members of the St. John's community, encouraging true cultural unity by celebrating our differences.
