This Form is due by July 25, 2018
About the Peer Mentors Program
The Peer Mentor Program is a student-led, peer-advisor program that provides support for interested first-year and transfer students at Tulane University. Mentors are upper-class students assigned to assist first-year students’ transition to college. The commitment is one academic year. The program stimulates discussion of issues that affect people of all backgrounds, cultivates student leadership, builds a stronger, more diverse community, and encourages students to participate fully in the campus life.
Peer Mentees will:
Be contacted bi-weekly by assigned mentor.
Learn about opportunities to become acclimated to the campus and New Orleans area, as well as to develop your personal, academic, social and cultural experiences through programming and guidance.
Engage a series of events and activities during the year to nurture relationships with mentors and get access to specific and valuable information about campus life.
Participate in the Peer Mentor Program Matching Ceremony, and 4 Mentoring Socials throughout the academic year.
Be part of a cluster of peer mentors and first year students who share your interests both socially and/or academically.
