Welcome from the Office of Multicultural Affairs! As a part of The Carolyn Barber Pierre Center for Intercultural Life, we strive to provide all students with a welcoming and family oriented environment. There are many ways to get involved including participating in our Ambassador Peer Mentoring program, joining us for our weekly Wednesday's with The Carolyn Barber Pierre Center, and coming to the various programs we host through the academic year, including our Leadership Retreat.
We are excited to meet, so you stop by our office and say hello and find out what we have in store this academic year.
As part of The Carolyn Barber Pierre Center for Intercultural Life, we recognize that students have multiple and intersecting identities and provide educational, social, and cultural opportunities that address the intersections of race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, class, nationality, differing abilities, neurodiversity, and religion. Throughout the year, we provide educational, social, and cultural opportunities for the campus community, such as Multicultural Student Orientation, Multicultural Leadership Retreat, Diversity Convocation, Audre Lorde Days, and Fall Harvest Fest Dinner, along with speakers, events and workshops for various cultural celebrations. Partnering with other university departments, community organizations, and student organizations, the Office of Multicultural Affairs works to serve students in ways that contribute directly to their ability to thrive in and outside the classroom.
The Center is a place where you can meet new people, socialize in a comfortable setting, do you your classwork, take naps, eat leftovers, have intellectual conversations and well participate in various levels of ridiculousness. The Center is a home away from home, so what are you waiting for get connected to The Center today!
