African American Student Leadership Retreat
Thank you for your interest in attending the 2018 African American Student Leadership Retreat (AASLE) as an Ithaca College delegate, sponsored by The Office of Student Engagement and Multicultural Affairs. Before completing this application, please visit the website (CLICK HERE) and read more about this opportunity.
This year’s theme, “NeXus: What it Looks like, What is Sounds Like, What it is…” will encourage delegates to think critically about the meaning of being the “NeXus.” Delegates will be challenged to define NeXus from their own perspective. This unique student leadership development experience brings together three communities, Asian/Asian American, Pacific Islander (AAPI) and Chicano/Hispanic/Latinx (CHL), which allow for greater synergy and coalition building within communities of color.
Conference Dates: Thursday, January 4- Sunday, January 7, 2018
Location: Renaissance Washington, DC Downtown Hotel, Washington, DC
Conference registration, hotel accommodations, and most meals will be covered by OSEMA. We are able to provide support for your travel arrangements to Washington DC, depending on your circumstance (more information in the application). All other expenses (extra meals, shopping, and etc) will be at your own expense.
Please complete and submit this application before Monday, October 23, 2017, 11:59pm. This deadline is not negotiable and no exceptions will be made. If you have any specific questions please email firstname.lastname@example.org. You will receive an email by October 31st after the committee reviews applications that will indicate your acceptance status. That email will also provide more details including the information meeting in November, travel information, and more regarding the campus-wide presentation that delegates will create after the conference.
