Summer 2019 Feminist Camp
The NCI Feminist Camp grant supports students attending this week-long workshop. The grant covers flight reimbursement up to $400, registration and lodging. Students meet with leading feminist organizations, activists, and thinkers.
The benefits of attending the workshop include:
- Exposure to new feminist knowledge and action, and
- Generation of an expanded network of feminist colleagues, friends, and opportunities for collaboration.
The June 2019 grant funds 1 full-time undergraduate student to attend the Seattle Feminist Camp that runs from June 10 - 15, 2019.

What does the grant cover?
This grant covers housing, program fees, food, and up to $400 in travel reimbursement for selected full-time undergraduate students. Newcomb College Institute pays the $1,750 program fee which includes housing, breakfasts, most lunches for five days, and all programming. NCI will also reimburse costs for travel to and from camp up to $400. Any remaining travel costs and other expenses will be the responsibility of the participant.

Who is eligible for this grant?
NCI Feminist Camp funding is only open to full-time, currently enrolled undergraduates. Previous applicants may apply again.
What is expected of me if I am awarded the grant?
If you are awarded funding and accept, you are responsible for attending all of the Feminist Camp events and for upholding Tulane’s student code of conduct while you travel to and attend the workshop. We also need a receipt for your travel reimbursement, pictures of your boarding pass and name badge, and a picture of you at the conference. After the workshop we ask you to complete a questionnaire that will be used to feature your experience at Feminist Camp on NCI's website.
Should I register for Feminist Camp?
Not yet! Please complete this application and if you are selected for this grant, Dr. Daniel will set up a time to meet with you and the other grant recipients to complete the registration.
Can I still go if I do not get the NCI grant?
Yes, you can!
What does the grant not cover?
Travel around the city and miscellaneous expenses (such as meals not covered by Feminist Camp).
