Seminar sponsored by the Public Leadership Education Network (PLEN)
Dates of the conference and location: May 20-24, 2019 in D.C.
PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION:
When is the application due?
January 28, 2019 by midnight CST.
Who is eligible for this grant?
Applications are open to all full-time undergraduates. Previous applicants may apply again.
What is covered through the NCI grant?
NCI funding will cover lodging (triple room occupancy), registration fee, and flight reimbursement. You will be reimbursed for your flight usually within two weeks of submitting your paperwork after your trip. In order to be reimbursed, you must book your flight during the PLEN orientation with Anna and e-mail her your flight itinerary, pictures of all boarding passes, a picture of your name badge and your student ID, and required reimbursement paperwork. You are responsible for additional fees if you book your flight for the incorrect day and/or location.
*Remember, you are responsible to pay for $125 seminar fee for the seminar. You can, however, apply directly to PLEN to secure a scholarship to cover this portion of the conference (at plen.org on the seminar tab). You will also be responsible for any transportation around the city, additional food and lodging, and miscellaneous expenses.
**Please note that if you do not attend the entire conference or you violate the Tulane Code of Conduct and PLEN's rules during the conference you will not be reimbursed for your flight and will be responsible for the PLEN fees.
What is expected of me if I am awarded the grant?
If you are awarded funding and accept, you are responsible for attending all of the PLEN events and for upholding Tulane’s student conduct code while you travel to and attend the workshop. We also need a receipt for your flight reimbursement, pictures of your boarding pass and name badge, and a picture of you at the conference.
If you are selected, I will coordinate pre-orientation around all grant recipients' work and school schedules.
Also, after the workshop we ask you to complete a website feature.
