The prizes are $250, $150, $100 respectively. We ask that all potential performers be aware that this event is intended to be open to guests of all ages. So all performances should do their best to be suitable for families and carefully manage or minimize any material that may be considered offensive. Performances can be between 4 and 6 minutes long, those that run over will not be eligible to win. The Campus Pantry will be open for use and donations for one hour following the Competition.

How will the poetry be judged.

Jordan J Borkoski

Amoja, the poetry/narratives will be judged by four judges: 2 students, 1 faculty and 1 staff. They will be allotting points for presentation, content and overall appeal. Once everyone has performed, the judges will combine their scores to determine the winners. Registration for competitors ends Wednesday 11/15 at 6 pm. Open mic performances are considered as entries in the competition but will receive a point deduction to make it far for registered performers! I hope that answered your question!
