Trans and Gender Non-Conforming students are in dire need of campus environments that affirm and support their existence and cultivate their success. Utilizing conceptual and theoretical frameworks that center the perspectives of trans and gender non-conforming students, this interactive workshop will guide the participants through a basic understanding of how the importance of deconstructing gender binaries while also creating inclusive pedagogical strategies both in campus programming and classroom environments. The facilitator relies heavily on extensive experiential work to provide in-depth techniques that are effective in demonstrating support and that are grounded in gender inclusion. This workshop is open to faculty, staff and students interested in implementing substantive changes in their curricula, student organizations and campus services.
