Welcome to the University Emergency Medicine Student Association (UEMSA). We are a student organization on the University of South Florida Tampa campus!

We currently conduct monthly general body meetings. Rooms and times will be announced via Org Sync, on our Facebook group, and on our Facebook page. During our general body meetings we discuss upcoming events, give lectures on emergency medicine, give demonstrations on equipment you would find on an ambulance, have  guest speakers, and much more! Please like our Facebook page or join us on Org Sync in order to get important information like our meeting locations and time because they do vary!


We also currently offer two classes on the USF Tampa campus, both of which are taught by Instructors which are certified at the minimum of the EMT-B level.

2.) American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the Health Care Provider

UEMSA is designed for students who aspire for a career in healthcare, emergency medical services (EMS), medicine, or just looking for a unique leadership opportunity. Our goals are to provide the education necessary for seeking those careers through educational lectures, EMR and CPR certification, and practical experience in emergency medicine. We also hope to foster new interest into the field of emergency medicine. Our mission is to raise the bar of safety on the USF Tampa campus and in the community with educational opportunities and when appropriate, a campus–based, student run, volunteer rescue EMS program.

All student organizations at the University of South Florida Tampa campus are required to have an advisor in order to maintain the organization's active status. An advisor must be a full time faculty/staff or graduate assistant at the Tampa campus. Your advisor must confirm their role as the advisor in your organization. Enter your advisor's email and an Advisor Approval Form will be sent to him/her for approval. You are encouraged to inform your advisor in advance of a forthcoming email from this system because your organization cannot complete the registration process to become an active organization until your advisor has approved the request.
