Welcome to SUMA!

Sisters United Muslim Association is dedicated to building and strengthening bonds between sisters in order to establish mutual understandings, a sense of community, and long-lasting friendships, all while dismantling the stereotypes that surround Muslim women. We participate in monthly community service activities, weekly halaqahs (study circles), intramural sports, and have lots of fun socials! Everyone is welcome to join!

Description

The purpose of SUMA is to create a social and educational environment for Muslim and non-Muslim USF students to interact and to provide awareness about women in Islam, while dismantling the stereotypes that surround the religion. SUMA provides a place for students to bond and grow as sisters and promotes personal and community development events. We benefit the USF community by providing a source of knowledge regarding diverse cultures, religions, and student groups, while promoting fellowship between Muslim and non-Muslim USF students. SUMA is an active community service organization and participates in monthly community service events. SUMA has no affiliations with any outside organization.
