Welcome to the Association of Nursing Students
Assume responsibility for contributing to nursing education in order to provide for the highest quality of health care; provide programs representative of fundamental and current professional interest and concerns to nursing students, aid in the development of the nursing student as a whole person, and represent nursing to the consumer, institutions, and other organizations.
Club Activities: Work with Community agencies such as Women's Shelter, Crisis Ministries, Ronald McDonald House, Family Services, and Special Olympics.
The purpose of DCCANS is to help Nursing students grow both personally and professionally, and to reach out to our community to help those in need. The Association of Nursing Students also helps nursing students learn how to network and apply classroom theory to the needs of people in the community. Nursing is so much more than distributing medication and initiating an IV; it's about caring, understanding, communicating, helping and educating those in need.
-Increase involvement of nursing students
-Reach out to the community and identify a major need and address it the best we can
-Raise awareness about health prevention and disease treatment and management
-Have more DCCANS members attend the state convention for NCANS
The 3rd Monday of each month (is subject to change around our big project times)
