Challenge Course Facilitator Application Spring 2017

Position Description

Rec Services is seeking to hire a group of dynamic students to join our Challenge Course Facilitator staff for this summer and into the fall and spring. Challenge Course facilitators are trained how to guide groups on our low and high element course. The course is a resource where participants can learn through communication, teamwork, and cooperation. The role of a facilitator is to contribute to the course operations through the delivery of experiential learning programming in a safe and inclusive environment. 

Prior experience in experiential activities is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train anyone with a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn. 


Must be 18 years of age and a K-State student
Obtain and maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications (training provided)
Attend and successfully complete K-State Challenge Course training**

**The high and low ropes course training is scheduled for May 15-19.  Attendance is REQUIRED for all days of the training.  We will also have a new hire day on the course (as participants) on Sunday, April 30 from 2-6 pm. 

Wage and start date

Facilitation pay starts at $9.50/hour.  Those that are hired and complete the training will be eligible to start working immediately after the training.  Hours are flexible and vary based on the number of groups that are scheduled per week.  This position typically works well with another part-time job and/or summer school.  This position continues to run through the school year as well and maintains work flexibility.
