Attention All Student Organizations!
You are invited to participate in the student organization donation drive contest, to be held during the Comet Cupboard Grand Opening Event – Party on the Plinth, on October 12, from 6-8pm.
What is the Comet Cupboard? It’s the new student-run food pantry in MC1.604! Check out our website!
Student organizations will compete against each other for three prizes – the Grand Prize is a $150 American Express gift card for your organization. We will provide the tables and volunteers to help you process your donations during the event. The Office of Undergraduate Education will provide a table for your group during the event – you will need to have at least two group members man your table, and you can also bring any type of banner, tablecloth, etc. that you typically use to represent your group at these types of events.
Since your group will be competing against other student orgs (we already have six committed to participating!), you will be responsible for publicizing your presence at the Grand Opening Event, and for enticing attendees (both in advance, and during the event) to donate to your group.
Any donations your group receives in advance of the event count towards your group’s total, so bring them next Friday!
We have a list of needed items here – your group will receive double points for donations of peanut butter, complete boxed meals, jarred pasta sauce, canned chili, or dry cereal boxes.
If you are planning to participate, please contact email@example.com soon, so we can make sure your group has a table at the event. This is a great cause, and we are seeing a great deal of use in the Cupboard so far! Please join us as we make UTD history!
The Student Organization Center will also conduct a raffle for the organizations that participate in this event. We will raffle a prize of $50.00.
