Hello student organization leaders,
My name is Brittany Ellenberg and this year I will be leading the UT Dallas Student Diversity Council. Due to the nature of your organization, your group qualifies as a member organization. Many of the diverse student organizations on campus, actively participated in the Council last year, some of the clubs will be new additions to our group this year. This means that the President of your organization, (or an executive board member, but the President is the preferred member) will be responsible for attending the UT Dallas Student Diversity Council meetings, which occur on the first Wednesday of every month at 12pm. The meeting will take place in AD 3.104 on October 3rd and lunch will be provided.
The Student Diversity Council’s purpose is to provide the students’ perspective, input and advice to the Office of Diversity and Community Engagement. The council will address the elements of student diversity, concerns, activities and programs to increase awareness and understanding of each other. Also, to move beyond simple tolerance to embrace and celebrate the rich dimensions of diversity contained within each individual. The group will be led by the principle that diversity is essential to reaching higher levels of excellence in the multicultural, multiethnic and diverse character of the United States in the 21st century.
Please RSVP to the meeting by September 24th. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration. If you are no longer the President of your organization, please reply with the proper contact information for the current President. If you have any questions please feel free to contact our office.
