Spring 2018 Raupe Travel Grant Application
The Raupe Travel Grant is a scholarship offered to University of North Texas undergraduate students who are attending a conference that will not only benefit the university, but themselves as well, enriching the student with knowledge and a learning experience that they can’t get in a classroom setting.
Students can receive up to $750 per semester towards their conference(s). Registered student organizations can receive up to $3,000 (up to $750 per student for up to 4 students) towards their conference(s).
The Raupe Travel Grant is offered on a first come, first served basis. Students are encouraged to apply early in the semester, as soon as they are aware of an upcoming conference.
Unlike previous years, these funds will be distributed after the conference once receipts are uploaded to OrgSync.* These receipts must be uploaded within 14 days of the last day of the conference; otherwise, you may forfeit your reimbursement.
Application and Eligibility
All applications must be turned in online via this form. Please be sure that you are requesting funds prior to the conference, but no more than three (3) months in advance of the conference. For example, if your conference is January 13, 2018, please do not submit this form prior to October 13, 2017. This application must be completed after attending an SGA Resource Meeting and before the proposed conference.
Please provide accurate, up-to-date information while filling out your application. Please ensure that you are thorough in your purpose statement for the conference when describing how the conference will benefit your career/major advancement as well as the University.
After you submit an application, you must attend a Raupe Travel Grant committee meeting to ensure you are eligible to receive funding. You will be notified of the time of your presentation to the Raupe Travel Grant committee via the email provided in this form, so be sure this is a regularly checked email address.
As of this year, the Raupe Travel Grant is only available to undergraduate students. Travel Grants for graduate students are offered through Toulouse, your department, and your college. Information about the Grants provided by Toulouse Graduate School can be found here: https://tgs.unt.edu/new-current-students/travel-grants
For more information about Raupe, please contact Isabel Delwel at firstname.lastname@example.org or check the UNT SGA website for more information.
*Please note that students who are not able to front the funds to pay for their conference may apply for an interest-free short-term loan through the Student Money Management Center. Information about this opportunity will be provided in the SGA Resource Meeting.
