Smoking and Tobacco Engagment Committee Minutes 12-6-15

Dec 7, 2015 by Bill Harlan

Good Morning SGA!

Last evening the Smoking and Tobacco Engagement Committee met and began laying the ground work for a survey and a student forum to gather input about the campus smoking and tobacco policy. Here are some highlights and the minutes from our meeting:

We have been given a survey from Pittsburg State University that they to gauge feelings for their smoking ban. We can't use their survey, but we made edits to tailor it to K-State. Contact Jonathan if you would like to see the edits.

This survey will be a stratified survey, meaning we survey a smaller sample size (approximately 2000) and will get our data more quickly. Results are very close to identical of what a survey of the entire campus would be.

Discussion concerning if and how to best put a forum together to facilitate a campus conversation. Still in the early planning stages.

If you have any questions, concerns, ideas, or comments about engaging campus on this issue, please reach out to Kylie Andres or myself and we would be happy to hear your input!

With Purple Pride,
Jonathan Peuchen
