GAMMA.CON is an all ages pop culture convention that includes a variety of unique events for participants. It will cover a broad range of topics including comics, anime, fantasy, sci-fi, cosplay, videogames, tabletop games, LARP, art, game development, game journalism, authors/books, TV/Film and more. Events include; educational panels, industry exhibitions, fun contests (i.e. art, talent, costume, video and board gaming contests), cultural activities and celebrity guests. GAMMA.CON's goal is to be inclusive, accessible, educational and entertaining for all people and to be an event that will allow people to meet, socialise and learn in a safe environment.

With the various open competitions on the day, members of the community can meet other likeminded people and have the opportunity to participate in showing off their skills in a competitive but also casual and friendly environment.

It will benefit attendees culturally by exposing them to pop culture or western culture. Among the activities planned for the convention there will be a series of panels on a variety of topics with guests from local costumers, writers, artists, film and video game makers. Allowing people to know more about what both Canberra and ANU has to offer. This will bring together the ANU community with the wider pop-culture community. They will also be exposed to elements of Japanese culture including cosplay, anime, manga and a Kabuki demonstration by ANU Za Kabuki.

Finally it will benefit people intellectually through the educational content of many of our panels and events. They will have the opportunity to meet current game developers, learn how game development work and how they can get into the industry. They will mean local and international authors who will give presentations on how to be a good writer and get published. The will hear from game journalists and find out what game journalists do and how they can become one. They will also be able to see a large variety of locally produced film content, meet the creators of those films and discover how they too can become a successful filmmaker.
