An international honor organization for Accounting within the College of Business at Chico State and other universities. The primary objective of Beta Alpha Psi is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the field of accounting. The organization enhances the comprehensive collegiate experience of students. BAP promotes the study and practice of accounting, provides opportunities for self-development, service and association among members and practicing professionals, and encourages a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibility.

Membership Requirements

What are the minimum requirements for a person to join your organization?

Section 1: Undergraduate Students.
A. To become a Candidate of the Delta Zeta Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi you must:
a. Have declared a concentration in accounting at CSU Chico
b. Have completed at least one upper level accounting course beyond the business core at Chico. If student has not completed at least one upper level accounting course, and they have earned a B+ or better in both ACCT 201 and ACCT 202 (or equivalent), then concurrent enrollment in two or more upper level accounting courses beyond the business core at Chico.
c. Have attained a cumulative grade average in upper level accounting course(s) beyond the lower division business core of at least 3.0 (where A is equal to 4.0) or the equivalent; and
d. Have attained at least a cumulative grade average of 3.0, or
i. Have achieved a rank within the top 20% of their university class, or
ii. Have attained at least a 3.25 cumulative grade average on the most recently completed 30 semester hours; or
e. Be reviewed and approved by the faculty advisor as meeting the criteria in subsections a – f listed above as well as reviewed for high ethical and moral standards.
B. To become a Student Member of the Delta Zeta Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi you must meet all requirements listed to become a Candidate in Article V, Section 1, Subsection A and in addition:
a. Have completed at least 2 upper level accounting courses with a 3.0 grade average or better
b. During Candidacy have completed the required service and professional hours listed in Article VI, Section 1
c. Be properly initiated in accordance with national bylaws
Section 2: Graduate Students. Graduate students at CSU Chico who wish to become Candidates and Members of the Delta Zeta Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi must adhere to the same requirements listed for undergraduate students in Article V, Section 1.
Section 3: Faculty. Tenured or Tenure-track accounting faculty at CSU Chico are eligible for initiation as Faculty members.
Section 3: Dues
A. Candidates are required to pay initial dues in their first semester of candidacy, which consists of a $65 chapter due and any dues required by National Headquarters.
B. If a Candidate fails to meet the requirements for initiation the dues are non-refundable.
C. Returning Members and Candidates are required to pay the $65 chapter dues.
D. Beginning August 20, 2015, all fees described in subsections A and C shall be waved for all candidates and members.

List the names of ALL members who are authorized to do business on campus for your club, including your President and Treasurer (i.e. book rooms, reserve tabling, etc.). ONLY THOSE NAMES THAT APPEAR ON THIS LIST WILL BE AUTHORIZED CLUB REPRESENTATIVES.
