Welcome to the Game Development Society 2018!

We aim as a society to bring together students interested in all aspects of game design and development, be they coders, artists, writers, musicians, designers or play-testers, to come together to share their knowledge and make awesome games.

In semester 1 we’ll be running:

  • Weekly game development sessions starting week 1, Wednesday 18:00 to 20:00, meeting lower Goldstein then moving to a dev room nearby.

  • GDS Games Nights (week 1, Tuesday from  18:00pm, with Med Revue and Boards Games Soc)

  • Mega LAN with PCSoc, LoLSoc, BlizzSoc, and other gaming societies (week 1, Saturday)

  • And workshops both with CSESoc and on our own! (Date TBC)

At the Game Development Sessions (Tuesday/Wednesday 6-8pm), you can meet other aspiring developers and designers. If you’re interested in game development we’d love for you to join us, even if you’re a total newbie. Our sessions are a relaxed place to talk about ideas, plan and collaborate on existing game projects, or to start learning a new toolset from our other members like developing with the Unity Game Engine, Unreal Engine or Construct 2.

Our GDS Games Nights are awesome LAN and console parties we hold every now and then throughout the semester. Bring your friends, your laptops, your consoles, or just bring yourself and have a chat with our members.
