Jul 22, 2015 by CORINNE Blight

The World University Games have been completed with University of Western Sydney students Ben Jaworski and James Grice finishing with awesome results!

Ben Jaworski made it to the second round of the Men’s 200m sprint and finished in 8th place.  He went on to come 4th in the 4x100m Gold Medal relay with Team Australia after a close call by officials who originally disqualified third place team, South Africa.

James Grice finished 32nd out of 41 participants in the Men’s Trap Shooting event, with the Gold medal being won by team Italy. Australian team member, Catherine Skinner took out one of four gold medals won by Australia in the Women’s Trap Shooting event.

The pair were a part of the Australian Uniroos team who recorded their best University Games result in history. A total of 19 medals, 4 gold were won by Australia.

We're excited to announce Ben Jaworski will join Team UWS for the Australian University Games championships in September on the Gold Coast to represent in the Athletics competition!
