New scholarships for business students available now

Sep 8, 2016 by Claudette Zolkowski

Paying for college can be challenging. That’s why the Oakland University business school is grateful for the generous gifts from individuals and organizations who create scholarships to support student education.

In all, Oakland’s b-school awards nearly $100,000 in scholarships to business students annually. This fall we are accepting applications for a handful of those business scholarships. Criteria varies, but you must apply by September 29 to be considered. It really only takes a few minutes to apply, and the return on your investment could be significant. Applications for the remaining business scholarships opens in January.

The Oakland business school is pleased to announce three new scholarships available this fall:

The Crestmark Bank Scholarship offers two $10,000 scholarships specifically for OU business students. Crestmark created this scholarship for Oakland business students to commemorate its 20th anniversary in business. Crestmark scholarships will be available to Oakland business students for the next five years. Learn more about this scholarship here. Apply online here.

Joy Jiang Annual Scholarship is a $1,500 scholarship available for a General Management major. Four 2016 OU b-school graduates created this scholarship in honor of Dr. Jiang, who left an indelible mark on their college experience. Read about this new scholarship here. Apply online here.

The Pilibosian Family Scholarship is a $2,500 award for a student pursuing a career in business administration with financial need.  Apply online here.

Criteria varies for each the scholarships so be sure to check the OU Business Scholarships page for specifics and to apply.

Study Abroad Scholarships. Business students considering enrolling in the business courses slated to travel to Amsterdam and Portugal in February 2017 (MGT 350 and ORG 330) should consider reviewing and applying for one of the 10 $1,000 Catherine Tyler and Patti Finnegan Sharf Study Abroad scholarships available to help pay for this once-in-a-lifetime trip. Must register for the class by Oct. 1.
