The Giraffe Leadership Award: Sticking One's Neck Out for Social Justice
This Giraffe Leadership Award is granted to one student who is dedicated to standing up for social justice issues on campus or in the greater community. Nominees contribute through their actions, initiatives developed, or the written word encouraging the community to work on behalf of those in underrepresented populations, or on behalf of issues relating to social justice. Nominees must be in good academic standing and be registered both semesters of the current academic year. The Giraffe Leadership Award is sponsored by Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Dr. Beth Hellwig, in honor of her son, Ryan Olson. One student will be awarded $250.
