Mid-Year Club Fair 2/9/2016

Step right up to the Mid-Year Club Fair! On Tuesday, February 9th, club presidents and board members lined the upper Met floors with tables of sign-up sheets, balloons, candy, and more. Programming Board Presents Blanket Fort Concert 1/23/16

No matter how old you are, the magic of the childhood blanket fort never fades. On the chilly night of January 23, 2016, RISD Programming Board constructed a huge blanket fort spanning the Taproom and threw a student concert with help from RISD Jams. The concert started at 6 and ended around 10pm.

With marker and whiteboard in hand, Rae Charles Whiteley (IL ’17) stood in front of the camera with Eloise Sherrid (FAV ’15), creating a powerful statement about gender inequality and censorship. Just because you’re not part of a culture doesn’t mean you can’t participate in it! On November 11, RISD SASA celebrated Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights, in the Old Library in College Building. Who says college students can’t go trick-or-treating? This Halloween, RISD Student Alliance, Residence Life, CSI, and Alumni Relations + Special Events partnered to bring the spirit of the holiday to the RISD President’s House on 132 Bowen Street. The event only lasted from 5:00 to 7:30 pm, but that was more than enough time for the costumed Student Alliance members to give away all of the delicious candy!

RISD Global Initiative presents Eat the World 10/25/15

With pink tickets in hand and an eager appetite, students took a delicious tour along Benefit Street’s Eat the World event. Stands lining both sidewalks offered taste samples from countries like Pakistan, Puerto Rico, and Hong Kong. “Singapore curry! Actions speak louder than words, especially when it comes to feminist movements such as the "SlutWalk".
