Terps for Change Logistics Intern Application for June 2019 - May 2020

INTERN POSITION DESCRIPTIONS

 

Responsibilities for all:

  • Act as a student ambassador for all of LCSL by building community with other office staff (professional and student).
  • Plan, promote, and attend Terps for Change program events including Monday Night Meetings (4-5:30pm), Terps for Change staff meetings, and Intern Retreats (August 24 & 25 and January 25 & 26).
  • Support and manage student coordinators and student volunteers as well as logistics for the Terps for Change programs including:
    • Maintain regular communication with staff, coordinators, and volunteers;
    • Conduct participant and coordinator interviews;
    • Facilitate Monday Night Meetings;
    • Create an Intern Learning Agreement and a Presentation of Learning;
    • Participate in recruitment events; and
    • Conduct dialogue observations and provide feedback for coordinators.
  • Commit to the position from August (date to be agreed on by full time coordinator) to May.
    • One of the following during August (all times should be during regular business hours):
      • 10 hours/week for the entire month of August
      • 20 hours/week for the 2 weeks before school starts
      • 40 hours the week before school starts
    • 10 hours a week through the Fall semester
    • One of the following during the Winter semester (all times should be during regular business hours):
      • 10 hours/week for the entire month of January
      • 20 hours/week for the 2 weeks before school starts
      • 40 hours the week before school starts
    • 10 hours a week through the Spring semester
  • Other duties as assigned.

Specific Intern Duties:

Logistics & Management Intern

  • Manage T4C participant interview process.
  • Manage T4C Logistics, including:
    • Run the OrgSync application process;
    • Make room reservations; and
    • Complete food orders if necessary.
  • Record keeping, including:
    • Compile and maintain participant and coordinator lists;
    • Collect data for community impact assessment;
    • Update alumni database; and
    • Assist in writing end-of-year/semester reports for LCSL.
  • Plan logistics and provide day-of oversight for special events: Retreats & End of Semester Celebration.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills;
  • Able and willing to take initiative and follow through to complete tasks and expand Terps for Change programs; and
  • Ability to work legally in the United States.

REMUNERATION:

  • Interns are provided a stipend in the amount of $800 each semester: Fall & Spring.
