Terps for Change Volunteer Application: Fall 2019
Terps for Change is committed to engaging students at the University of Maryland in sustained and meaningful service to our community. We explore root causes that give rise to the need for service and activism while promoting critical reflection and dialogue. We mobilize students to better understand the systematic complexities of social issues and the action steps they can take to directly address them.
Because a key aspect of our program is cultivating sustained relationships with community partners, we require a minimum commitment of one academic semester for all volunteers. Students must volunteer at their designated sites at least once a week or as otherwise described for the site. Additionally, student volunteers are required to attend and actively engage in weekly community dialogues that are an hour long for 8 weeks to reach a deeper understanding of service-learning and movement toward social change.
All NEW Terps for Change volunteers will be need to do a 30-minute interview. There will be a sign-up genius link sent to you after submitting this application. Returning volunteers with good attendance rates will not have to interview.
