Our office promotes the psychological well-being of the GVSU community through preventive services and therapeutic interventions. The UCC provides individual and group counseling, educational programs, referral services, consultation, outreach events, and training to all currently enrolled GVSU students.

The mission of the University Counseling Center is to enhance the healthy development of our diverse GVSU community through prevention & education, psychological services and consultation.
The UCC provides personal counseling to GVSU students free of charge, as well as outreach events (most are LIB 100 approved), peer education, and crisis services.
The UCC provides individual counseling as well as group therapy. Individual counseling sessions are offered on a limited basis and are typically 45 minutes in length. The number of counseling sessions needed will be determined by the counselor and client. Group sessions are offered on an unlimited basis, are 60-90 minutes in length and typically occur on a weekly basis.
