The Journey: In Pursuit of Fraternal Excellence Submission Form

On the following page, please submit this form on behalf of your organization by selecting your chapter name.  Do not submit this form on behalf of yourself.

Purpose

The purpose of The Journey program is to ensure that recognized chapters at the University of Denver are meeting the expectations of what it means to be a part of this community. The Office of Student Activities believes that as one chapter excels it also helps to elevate the rest of the community. The program is not a “one size fits all” model, but instead encourages the DU chapters to assess their current reality, determine goals to fit their individual needs, develop action plans to meet their established goals, and reflect on successes and opportunities for improvement.  Chapters have the opportunity to continually grow and improve; achieving the goals they set for themselves in each of eight Points of Emphasis created to provide congruence with the commonly shared values of fraternity and sororities.

Eligibility

In order to be fully eligible all chapters must complete each of the points of emphasis within the Areas of Excellence every year, as well as submit all requested forms and documentation.  The eight Points of Emphasis include Academic Achievement, Chapter Management, External Relations, Harm Reduction, Inclusive Excellence, Intake/Recruitment & Retention, Membership Development, and Philanthropy & Community Service.

Outcomes

To be fully accredited by the University of Denver Office of Student Activities, chapters must meet the minimum (75% of available points) expectations and requirements.  Failure to fulfill these obligations will result in social privileges being revoked.
