Welcome to the
Pirate P.A.L.S. (Pirates Advocating for Learning Success)
ECU Pirates P.A.L.S. make it a mission to serve children of Greenville by being tutors and mentors and reading buddies that educate, invest in, and inspire future generations of leaders.
The vision of this program is to increase the academic skills and performance of elementary students within Greenville and the surrounding area.
Design for Change Mentor League
A new mentoring opportunity this semester is the Design for Change Mentor League, in which a group of committed volunteers will work with about 10 students at the Police Athletic League South Greenville location. Volunteers will mentor these youth as they go through the Design for Change curriculum. This curriculum provides the youth with creativity, positive thinking, character building and allows them to develop an "I can" mindset. This group will be meeting every Wednesday and due to the intimate nature of the mentoring group, we ask that volunteers commit to attending all sessions.

This portion of mentoring of the mentoring branch is an opportunity for volunteers to get up and active by facilitating games for local youth. Pirate Playtime runs the 1st and 3rd Friday afternoon each month from 3pm until 6pm. No application is required but you must sign up for Open Play by the Thursday before.
