Welcome to the page of Gamma Iota Sigma!

We are a pre-professional based organization on the campus of UNC Charlotte, who promotes and encourages student interest within the Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) industry. Not majoring in Risk Management and Insurance? That's fine too! We welcome ALL MAJORS hosted within the Belk College of Business as well as Math majors. Our goal as an organization is to make you a shining star in front of RMI Industry professionals. We pride ourselves on the scholarships and internships that our members are rewarded through academic excellence and refined professionalism. Would you wish to know more about what we can do for your future success? Come to our next GIS Chapter meeting or email our Program Coordinator, Angela Fowler at afowle35@uncc.

We look forward to meeting you soon!

Portal Information

The purpose of this co-ed fraternity is to promote, encourage, and sustain student interest in insurance, risk management, and actuarial science as professions; to encourage the high moral and scholastic attainments of its members; and to facilitate interaction of educational institutions and industry through networking and by fostering research activities, scholarship, and improved public relations.

Through regular meetings, guest speakers, and industry events, Gamma Iota Sigma provides students with real-world exposure, networking, and the opportunity to build lasting friendships with classmates. Special industry-sponsored events such as job shadow days and Insurance Career Fairs are held each semester to acquaint the students with industry practices and foster industry relationships.

Students interested in joining the Gamma Iota Sigma should contact the Program Coordinator or Faculty Advisor.
