Wintergreen Campus Evolution & Outcomes

Feb 24, 2015 by Caytes (CJ) Liley

Celebrate green buildings in Sourthern Colorado, earn GBCI/AIA CE hours, and explore how the University of Colorado Colorado Springs is advancing sustainability on campus!

This year the US Green Building Council is partnering with UCCS for its annual Wintergreen event to showcase and celebrate green building in Southern Colorado . UCCS, with 10 years of green building success, will be the focus at this event on February 26 from 5-8 p.m. in Berger Hall. This is a great opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to learn more about LEED buildings and opportunities in the green building field and sustainability.

The keynote will be provided by Linda Kogan,  Sustainability Director, who will share an interesting account of the 10 year LEED journey beginning with the Recreation Center and coming full circle to the Recreation Center Addition. Green building, which started as a student grass roots initiative, planted the seeds for many other sustainability successes for which the campus is recognized.

Come walk the Journey of Green Building at UCCS. Architects and consultants from all of the building projects will be in attendance to showcase their campus projects and discuss the LEED strategies particular to their buildings.

Appetizers and beverages will be served.
