The 2016 UCCS Homecoming Weekend is around the corner and the Office of Student Activities, along with many other departments, is excited to provide you with a weekend filled with activities!! Along with all of these activities is one of UCCS’ most storied traditions; that being the annual Homecoming Formal and Casino Night! Please see the information below regarding Homecoming Formal, as well as a detailed schedule of other events occurring throughout the weekend!
Homecoming Formal and Casino Night Information
- Saturday, October 15th, 2016
- 8:00P.M. – 1:00A.M.
- Gallogly Events Center and Berger Hall
- Tickets are on sale NOW at the University Center Information desk
- Prices are $10 for individual tickets and $15 for a “couples” ticket
- Must be a UCCS Student with a student ID to purchase either ticket option
- Dancing, free food, and tickets for casino games are all included in your homecoming formal ticket package
Homecoming Student Events Schedule
Thursday, October 13th
Chalk the Walk | 11:00 A.M. | The Spine (Near the West Lawn)
Join OSA and other student clubs and organizations and help decorate the spine for Homecoming. Chalk will be provided so all you need to bring is your awesome artistic skills! Sign up your club in groups of 20 or less, or sign up as an individual. Prizes will be provided during the event, as well as a grand prize for the most creative and cool design. Reserve your chalking space by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Homecoming Kickoff | 7:30 P.M. – 8:30 P.M. | El Pomar Plaza (Library Entrance)
Our 2015 Homecoming will be kicked off in true UCCS fashion. Join student athletes in team chants, meet players of the women's and men's soccer team, and grab some free food, and join in some extra fun games! The first 100 students in attendance will be receiving an OFFICIAL 2016 HOMECOMING T-SHIRT!
Friday, October 14th
The March | 3:00 P.M. | Alpine Field Entrance
Join students, clubs, and greek organizations as hundreds of students in UCCS' Homecoming parade, "The March." All participants can bring their own signs, student organizations can build miniature floats or banners, together will march down to the ROTC turf field and Mountain Lion Stadium for our Homecoming tailgate, free food, and to cheer on our Mountain Lions to victory.
Homecoming Tailgate | 3:30 P.M. – 4:30 P.M. | ROTC Turf Field
Inflatables, music, prizes, free t-shirts and more can all be found at this tailgate. Oh, and did we mention free food as well? Come march down to the stadium in the Homecoming Parade or meet us down there to join in the fun!
Trek the Trail Volunteer Project | 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. | Parking Lot 580 (Intersection of N. Nevada and North Campus Heights)
The 3rd annual Trek the Trail 5k Run to benefit UCCS Beth-El Scholarship fund is during homecoming! This is the only trail run at UCCS and raises funds for nursing and health science students. This year, student volunteers are needed to assemble race packets, as well as mark the course in which participants will be running. Packet creation and course marking will occur on Friday, while course volunteers will be needed on Saturday.
Men and Women’s Soccer Games | 5:00 P.M.—9:30 P.M. | Mountain Lion Stadium
The real fun during our Friday Homecoming Activities is of course, at the soccer games. Cheer on our Mountain Lions as the men's team face off against Regis University, starting 5pm, while our women's team take on Colorado School of Mines, with kickoff beginning at 7:30P.M.
Homecoming Bonfire | 9:45 P.M. – 11:00 P.M. | Parking Lot 572
A long-standing homecoming tradition, help cheer on our leaders of UCCS light the fire and keep it burning through the night with music, games, prizes, and FUN!
Saturday, October 15th
Trek the Trail 5k Run | 9:00 A.M. | Parking Lot 580 (Intersection of N. Nevada and North Campus Heights)
Join us at the 3rd annual Trek the Trail 5k Run to benefit UCCS Beth-El Scholarship fund. This is the only trail run at UCCS and raises funds for nursing and health science students to further their education and become successful health professionals. The event is being co-hosted by Beth-El's outstanding college student organizations: Exercise is Medicine, Beth-El Student Nurses Association, Nutrition Club and Local Food Club.

Sunday, October 16th
Homecoming Soccer Games| 12:00 P.M. -- 5:30 P.M. | Mountain Lion Stadium
Our last bit of homecoming fun conludes on Sunday, with the remaining Homecoming Soccer games. Cheer our Mountain Lions to victory as the men's team face off against South Dakoka Mines, starting 12pm, while our women's team take on Colorado Christian University, with kickoff beginning at 2:30P.M.
