FIRE is a social justice organization founded and lead by undocumented youth who fight for immigrant rights and equality. FIRE believes that the current immigration system is fundamentally broken and can only be fixed through the mobilization of people power.

We are committed to educating and organizing our communities in order to make the changes that are necessary for the formation of a fair and just society. FIRE accepts all our allies in the struggle, and we do not discriminate based on immigration status, sexual and gender identity, racial or ethnic background, religious orientation, or social status.

As all forms of oppression overlap and intersect, we believe that unity is necessary for our collective liberation. We advocate for immigration reform with dignity, and aspire for a world without borders.

Portal Information

Fighting for Immigrant Rights & Equality (FIRE) at University of Louisville campus (FIRE) is a broad based immigrant youth network created to help immigrant youth access higher education through mentoring, programming and advocacy. In addition to the FIRE's strong advocacy for the DREAM Act, the youth led organization focuses on helping youth stay in school, plan for college and serve the community through meaningful projects.

The FIRE's mission is to help change the face of higher education and leadership in KY, NOT by excluding ANYONE but by including EVERYONE regardless of ethnicity, race, gender, age, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, socioeconomic status or immigration status.
