WELCOME!!

The Missouri S&T student chapter of Society of Women Engineers is part of the Region I District of the Society of Women Engineers.  We have on average over 100 active members, most are members at the national level. Both female and male students of any major are welcome to join us!

Our members are encouraged to get involved and take advantage of the many opportunities our section provides. They participate by taking the lead in various roles in our community outreach, precollege programs, fundraising, and regional and national conferences.

Our chapter is very active on campus and in the local community.  Outreach is extremely important to us, as one of our goals is to increase awareness of engineering and science to students of a younger age. Members visit local elementary schools and demonstrate Nano-technology, as well as other hands-on activities.  We have also joined forces with the Women's Program to co-sponsor a semi-annual Lock-In conference for female high school juniors and seniors and prospective college transfer students who would like to learn more about studying science, engineering, or math at Missouri S&T.

But it's not all about math and science! Our section strives to provide a welcoming and fun environment in which women on campus can come together and create everlasting bonds and friendships.  In addition to our general meetings we have incorporated "just for fun" evening socials.

Society meetings are held twice a month and feature guest speakers from various industries. Their dynamic presentations give insight to the many opportunities that await them after graduation and how to achieve them.

Are you interested in what we do or want to learn more? We invite you to join us at one of our meetings or outreach events.  We would love to have you! If you have any questions, or are interested in speaking at one of our meetings just send us an email!
