Organization Overview

Welcome to the Crohn's and Colitis Student Initiative! The purpose of this organization shall be to provide a place to talk to fellow students who have gastrointestinal disorders (for example, Crohn's disease, Ulcerative Colitis, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, etc), help incoming freshmen adjust to living independently, create a campus that is more suitable for students with GI issues in part by spreading awareness. CCSI also runs a support group called Peer2Peer for children with IBD.

The Crohn's and Colitis Student Initiative allows students with IBD to meet other students with IBD (Crohn's and/or Colitis). Meeting are held to allow these students to talk and share stories of what they have had to deal with and how they have overcome them. CCSI also aims at making Grand Valley more suitable for students living with Crohn's and/or Colitis and helps incoming freshmen make the transition to a more independent life.
