Organization Overview

The Gamma Upsilon Chapter of Sigma Kappa was established on November 21, 1959. We have 26 active sisters and are currently at sister 881! Our current chapter GPA is 3.25. Sigma Kappa Sorority provides many opportunities for members to become involved in community service and philanthropic projects. Chapters across the country support Sigma Kappa philanthropies, which include: Alzheimer’s disease/Gerontology, The Maine Sea Coast Mission and Inherit the Earth. In the spring of 2013, our chapter raised $338 for Ultra Violet at our coupon event at Lagerheads. We also frequently visit Center in the Woods, an adult daycare, many times throughout the semester. For the week of giving, we are going to Center in the Woods for a 50's inspired dance and to play bingo! During Formal Recruitment in the spring of 2013, we painted all the participants flower pots to welcome in the spring! We also held a Senior Prom for the participants in Spring 2011. We also participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer's each fall at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium. This year, we raised $460 that will be donated to Alzheimer's Research!
