Welcome, Global Partner!
UAB Global Partners is comprised of world-ready people like YOU. Are you interested in international outreach, volunteering, peer mentoring, and career development? We are in conjunction with UAB's Office for Study Away (OFSA). Together, we can open the door to the world.

Our mission: To promote international awareness through networking, mentoring, and local involvement to enhance students’ study away experience and further their development in becoming a globally-aware young professional.
Global Partners was established primarily to serve as the bridge between prospective students wishing to study away and alumni who have, but also to foster international awareness. In order to maximize our impact, we will be operating within the following realms:
A. Mentoring - Returning students would contribute to this mentor program by allowing other students who are studying in the same region to contact them for a meeting once or twice before their departure. Mentorship would help answer any questions new students may have regarding their host country or advice on travel preparation and/or the study abroad experience in general.
B. Volunteering – All members will participate in the various outreach and promotional programs Global Partners decides to assist with. Such programs include functions with the Birmingham International Center, UAB Office for Study Away, and other organizations that seek to raise international awareness.
C. Fundraising – This will take the place of membership dues. All members will be expected to help with the fundraising effort whether that be in the brainstorming efforts or execution of our designated fundraising project. No student will be expected to raise a specific amount of money for this organization.
If your organization has selective membership, please describe the selection process.
“The University of Alabama at Birmingham prohibits discrimination in admission, educational programs, and other student matters on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, national origin, disability unrelated to program performance, veteran status or genetic or family medical history.”
Thus, membership is open to any undergraduate or graduate students, with regard to the 2.75 GPA requirements. Students who are planning on studying away, or have already studied away or are interested in international awareness, international travel, and/or international networking and career development are encouraged to join.
There will be no membership dues.
